    Five elements in Bon

    In the Tibetan Bon tradition, the five elements are central to the concept of the soul. In fact, without these outer and inner elements exchanging and balancing, parts of our soul may be considered diminished. Many religious traditions deny or negatively discuss the material world. The Bon do not. Without the five elements (earth, water, fire, air, and space), the soul itself diminishes. We cannot survive emotionally, spiritually, or intellectually without the elements. When we think of the earth element, we think of a mountain grounding itself with strength to the earth.
